We are looking for gently used, quality items to best curate the Hidden Gems collection, please see below for more details on the type of items we accept, as well as items we cannot tak
Here are Items we are searching for :
Clothing & Accessories
High-quality, gently used or new clothing.
Designer and name-brand clothing: Items
from reputable brands, especially those in
good condition.
Shoes must be In good condition, with minimal
wear and clean soles. No scuffs, holes, or
heavy odors.
Handbags, scarves, belts, and jewelry in
excellent condition.
Entertainment
Gently used books, preferably in popular genres, classics, or collectible editions. Avoid water-damaged, ripped, or outdated books (like old textbooks).
Well-maintained, scratch-free vinyl records. DVDs, Blu-rays, and CDs in original cases and in good condition.
Clean, gently used toys that are complete with all parts. No excessive wear, and preferably those with resale value, such as vintage or popular toys.
Board games & puzzles with all pieces are included and in good condition.
Home Furnishings
High-quality, lightly used home decorations, including picture frames, vases, and wall art.
Kitchenware should be high-quality,
non-chipped dishes, silverware, cookware,
and utensils.
Linens and bedding that are new or
gently used, clean bedding, including sheets,
blankets, and comforters. Preferably in sets
and free of stains.
Smaller, easy-to-transport furniture pieces
that are gently used, free from tears, stains,
or significant scratches (e.g., end tables, chairs, coffee tables). Working lamps and lighting fixtures in good condition. Clean and gently used area rugs.
Electronics
Working small kitchen appliances: Such as mixers, toasters, coffee makers, and microwaves.
Quality electronic gadgets (smartphones, tablets, etc.), preferably with all cords and must be in working order.
Antiques
Unique, high-value vintage pieces (clothing, furniture, or decor) that are in good condition and can be considered collectible.
Well-preserved antique furniture, art, or decorative items.
Costume and fine jewelry must be in wearable condition, with all parts intact. Valuable vintage or designer pieces are especially desirable.
Functional, clean, and good-quality watches.

Gather Your Items

We accept seasonal items year-round.

Ensure items are clean and in good condition.

Check Donation Hours

Hidden Gems donation hours:

Tuesday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Side of our building – 405 8th Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA-
Follow the posted signs to the donation area.

Step 3
Prepare Your Donation
-
Pack items in bags or boxes that are easy to carry.

Label items if needed (optional) to help staff sort quickly.

Avoid broken, heavily worn, or stained items.
Step 4
Drop Off Your Donation

Pull up to the side of the building and follow the signs to the donation area.

Place your items in the yellow carts or on the wooden shelving provided in the donation area.

Staff or volunteers are available to assist if needed.
Step 5
Earn Rewards with Your Donation Punch Card

Each donation earns one punch on your donation punch card.

After 5 punches, you receive $10 off your next purchase at Hidden Gems.
